El Patron — how to play
A budget-economy career: player aging, multi-season transfers, a youth academy and a demanding board.
El Patron is the long-haul career mode. It builds on El Jefe's budget economy and adds the passage of time: players age and decline, veterans retire, young prospects emerge, and your squad must be rebuilt season after season.
Prize money and sponsorships fund your transfers; a club board sets you a target each season and will lose patience if you keep missing it. It is the most demanding game in the collection — a test of long-term squad planning, not just one good season.
How to play
- Build your squad on a budget, then manage the season as in El Jefe.
- Between seasons, handle retirements and aging — sign replacements in the transfer window.
- Bank prize money and sponsorships to fund your next rebuild.
- Meet the board's target each season to keep your job, and build a dynasty over a career.
Tips
- Watch your squad's age profile — an aging core can fall off a cliff in a single season.
- Develop under-24s so you have ready replacements before your veterans retire.
