World Championships takes the squad-building of The Guvnor to the international stage. You draft a national-team-style squad of stars and then manage it through a World Cup: a group stage, then single-elimination knockout rounds all the way to the final.

Tournament football is unforgiving (one bad night in the knockouts ends your run), so squad depth, fitness management and reading each opponent matter even more than in a league season.

How to play

1. Draft your squad within the rules, then choose your formation and tactics.
2. Navigate the group stage; top your group to earn a kinder knockout draw.
3. Win each knockout tie to advance; there are no second chances.
4. Lift the trophy by winning the final.

Tips

• Scout each opponent's shape and identity before kick-off and set your tactics to counter them.
• Keep fresh legs for the latter rounds; don't burn out your best eleven in the groups.
